Trial of the Cold Moon

Trial of the Cold Moon

Book 2

Series: Haret Chronicles: Vampire

I came home to kill the Queen, not pander like a political puppet.

Back in Saori Sang, Merden holds all the strings. The second Trial has us gathering coin instead of kills, and I’ve been forced to exchange my armor for a dress and heels.

Every day is a struggle to avoid spilling blood, but I have to let the Trials guide me.

Easier said than done, when our dead ancestors in the mist don’t care about anyone still living. The mist is asking me to ignore the blood slaves, the rebel executions, and how Merden’s greed grips everyone who enters the palace.

My only win is that I’m gathering allies. My thief still steals my nights, and the wolf is useful in ways I never realized. My man in the mist is getting stronger, and I’m gaining hope for rescuing my aima.

Then there’s the mysterious fae in the crowd – he wants something from me, but he’s hiding more than just his face behind that vampire mask.

Patience has never been one of my virtues, but at least distractions come in all shapes and sizes.

I’m Kana of Saori Sang, and my toxic trait is thinking I can trade my blades for ballgowns without going crazy.
